Creating seasonal employment in the community, and owned by the well known pioneering Piesse family, the wines received many awards and accolades. This makes the Piesse Winery Ruins a special part of Katanning community history.
In 1904, the winery was built using bricks from Piesse brickworks. In 1910, a brick distillery was added with a basement cellar.
Now we are left with a brick structure that some may call a castle, but Katanning locals know it as the Piesse Winery Ruins.
