Katanning Scouts Group have been providing local youth with incredible opportunities to develop leadership and a love of the outdoors, for over 100 years. As part of the world-wide scout family, Katanning scout group provides boys and girls memberships across 4 of the 5 age sections- Joey scout (5-7 year olds), Club Scout (8-10 year olds), scouts (11-14 year olds) and venturers (15-17 year olds).

Weekly meetings in the scout hall and around the local area, cover themes of creative, outdoor, community and personal growth and include activities such as bush walking, navigation, craft, cooking, first-aid and civics.

Our units enjoy a camp every term, traveling further afield, hiking, camping and participating in local district and state events. Our older youth even have the opportunity to engage in national and international scout events. Using our award scheme as our guide, scouts earn badges for their achievements and use the pathway to challenge themselves, set goals, learn new skills and have adventures. Some youth may even achieve their peak award, a notable milestone which also looks great on resumes and scholarship applications.

Adults are encouraged to join the fun and help develop our local youth, through roles as a leader, or group committee. Full training is provided, and joy is your reward.
